Fairies
The young girl sat on the old red barge as it slowly floated along the canal,
Her name was jenny and she liked to watch and daydream out of the window of
The barge. Her younger brother was on top of the boat fishing with his dad ,
Jenny could see the line of the rods over side of the boat, how long had they been up there
She had lost track of time. Jenny had been daydreaming about the fairies that lived along the river bank,
And how there bright coloured wings sparkled in the Sunshine. She jumped when her brother
Popped his head through the gully door "any tea going?" he asked, his name was Sam and Jenny thought that he
Had the look of a fairy with his soft blonde curls blue eyes and glowing completion. He of course was like Jenny. Who had her own pretty blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Jenny made some tea and sliced a cake
Then she joined Sam and their dad on top of the barge "how many fish have you caught?" asked jenny. "Not enough...well not enough for tea any way" said dad , "we will have to make do for today." jenny answered as she gazed up at the warm sun, "should I go and warm the pan?" jenny suggested.
"Yes please jenny!" replied dad.
After eating their fish with bread and butter every one got into bed and snuggled down,it was cold on the barge in the night. Jenny awoke to a very quiet tapping on the side of the barge, with one eye open she looked to see what the noise was, "Sam wake up!" Whispered jenny, Sam sat up in bed and together they watched a bright light dancing about outside the window. As they watched in amazement the bright light turned into a beautiful fairy her wings were glowing bright green in the dark, the fairy flew around and the children's eyes followed her to the river bank were they were shocked to see a collection of coloured lights bobbing around on the grass in the dark.
Sam and Jenny watched closely from the barge window it seem to them that the fairies were having a party, they couldn't resist any longer on went their dressing gowns as they slowly and quietly crept off the barge without waking dad.
Along the riverbank they went, and as they got nearer the fairies waved at them and called them over, but the strange thing was that as they got nearer they seemed to be the same size as the fairies. Jenny and Sam were seated on two toad stalls that lit up as the fairies touched them ,they were so excited, the children and the fairies all played together in the pretty colours that surrounded them. They sang songs ate cakes and played games. They were having a wonderfull time.
Dad came into the bedroom to wake the children "good morning "said dad,
"You two are having a long lye in today. "Jenny and Sam looked at each other and then out of the window, it was day light and brilliant sunshine but jenny could just see a very faint light in the distance,
She smiled at Sam and they both snuggled back down under their covers.

daisy
The little girl sat at the end of the garden
looking at the flowers, the sun
Was shining and the sky was clear blue. The
little girl Rosie had been playing with her doll, she sat chatting to her, when
she nearly jumped of the garden chair
“Did you speak” Rosie asked the doll,
She could hear giggling but it wasn’t coming
from her dolly. Rosie looked around her garden , behind her chair, then she saw
a sunflower move she slowly went up to
the flower it had gone silent, she moved the flower over. Rosie could see a
small coloured ball, she poked it with her finger and then stepped back when a
very small elf unrolled him self, dressed in very bright colours with shining
red cheeks. “Hello” said Rosie, the elf looked at her and gave another giggle,
“Hello I’m jack”
“What are you doing” asked Rosie
“Clearing up” he replied.
“Why” asked Rosie
“I like to keep the garden tidy”. “I spend my
time collecting up the petals that have fallen from the flowers, and the leaves
from the plants”.
Rosie sat back in her chair,
“I thought mum cleared the garden”.
“She does but I help when she’s not looking, I
also mend things”.
“What have you mended” asked Rosie.
“Pegs, I mend lots of pegs that fall on the
floor.”
Rosie asked Jack if she could help him, she
collected the pegs from the garden and put them in a pile on the path.
“there” she said “that should save you some
time.
“Thank you” said Jack you are very kind.
Rosie went inside to get a drink , when she
returned to the garden all the pieces of pegs had disappeared she looked around
for them , then she noticed the leaves moving in the flower bed she gently
moved them apart and saw Jack, he had one pile of pegs he had mended and on the
other side of him there was all the left over bits that he had built into a
figure rather like a stick doll, with arms and legs of pegs a face made from
tiny seeds from the garden and her hair was made of rose petals and a skirt
made from sprigs of lavender from the garden.
“Oh how wonderful” cried Rosie.
“I thought you would like daisy” Jack said to Rosie,
as he placed a daisy chain around the peg doll’s neck.
“You must be very gentle with her and keep her
out of the rain”.
“I will” promised Rosie and placed her behind
a large flower pot to keep her safe. Rosie sat starring and talking to daisy,
while Jack carried on with his work. When mum called Rosie in for tea, she
turned to tell Jack, but she could not see him she just heard him giggling to
himself.

MAISIE
Mummy tucked Maisie in bed for the night, gave
her a kiss and turned on the music box on the table. Mummy left the room, and Maisie
started to drift off to sleep watching the small ballerina turning on the music
box.
Maisie rubbed her eyes then she saw that the little
ballerina had jumped from the box and onto the table where she was dancing all
around in the pretty pink tutu and shinny shoes, the ballerina twisted and jumped with her hands in the air, as Maisie
held out her hand the little ballerina jumped onto it still dancing and
tickling Maisie‘s hand, this made Maisie laugh, they heard mummy coming up the
stairs and when mummy came into the room Maisie was fast asleep and the
ballerina was back on the box standing very still. Good night sleep tight said
mum.
